Calling themselves a “lifestyle movement”, Salt’s food trucks have taken the UAE’s burger obsession on wheels. Originally kicking off as a pop up restaurant in surprise locations, the Emirati co-founders launched the wildly successful #findsalt Instagram campaign that had UAE residents scrambling to find the vintage Airstream truck in their cities so they could nab Salt’s famous sliders and shakes.
The homegrown brand now has three permanent locations at Dubai Kite Beach, Abu Dhabi Mushrif Park, and the Ajman Marina Promenade. Its Instagram page continues to tempt UAE residents everywhere to break their diets.
If you find yourself constantly scratching your head trying to come up with activities for your kids, The Happy Box may be just the thing for you! Sisters Joumana and Linda founded the subscription box company with the objective of providing families with interactive and educational activities that bring them together. Bursting with color and excitement, their social media pages will cause you to itch for some glitter and glue.
Akin Barber & Shop
This recently launched barbershop is oozing with retro vibes and brings a totally different experience to the UAE male grooming scene. The brand slowly built its online following pre-opening by sharing behind the scenes photos and updates on their progress while holding pop up barber shops around Dubai. These beard connoisseurs are most active on Instagram and kind of make me wish I was a man just so I could grow some facial hair.
Posting in both Arabic and English, Baraka bits has been sharing good news from the Middle East since 2013. Focusing on shining a positive light on an often misunderstood region, BarakaBits’s content is both interesting and uplifting. With stories about Gazan filmmakers and the Iranian art scene, this page is truly a breath of fresh air on the Middle Eastern news scene.
This downtown Dubai restaurant’s Instagram page is a food photography dream. Karak House’s 16,000 fans enjoy carefully curated images of its famous karak chai and mouthwatering food. This page is an immaculate reflection of the Emirati grown restaurant’s attention to detail. It definitely works to entice us into heading down for some chai!
